RITES FOR DARK GODS
This ritual is conducted within a circle of other priests, along with faithful people. During the ritual, the black priest of Mara, before lighting the sacred fire and the praising/blessings of the Bright Gods, uses a knife or an axe to draw a circle around the sanctuary or sprinkles grain (crushed charcoal or another necessary powder) along the perimeter, while reciting corresponding sentences (for example: "Evil away! Evil begone! Darkness wandering, let Evil be guarded! Spirits wandering, overseeing beyond the woods - take these grains and make porridge, do no evil!"). Standing at the sanctuary facing the Navia spirits, he says:
"Comrades and relatives! We have gathered today on the dark side of this place to seek advice from the Shadow Souls of our Ancestors, that this offering may reach the Navii Gods. And let us not fear them! As the will of the All-God Family, so may our will align with our Ancestors, leading us on the Right Path with our actions."
Then, he removes the blindfolds from the eyes of the Navii spirits with the words:
"Go-Veles! Gates to Navia open! Strengthen the place, Navia hold it!"
Afterwards, the priest must chant the syllable "Viy" (Ve) nine times to all the kin. The black priest then turns to the Navii spirits, addressing those flowing from Navia, with a threefold statement that comes from the heart:
"Navii spirits, hear us! On Yarilo's Day, on the Bright celebration, Step into the dark forests, along untrodden animal paths, Under the stump-post, into the deep pit. Let my word be strong as the Alatyr stone, Unbreakable, uncut, Unwithered by winds, unquenched by water, Only to strengthen, become stronger, Sharpens the forces of Navia! So let it be!"
While uttering these words and making separating hand movements in the ancient "goat" sign of the old gods (the sign of Veles), he drives away the minor Navia spirits.
Lastly, the black priest turns to Morana, uttering similar words three times:
Mother Mara! (this line, as well as the last one, is chanted) As black as your hair, let the Night be black. As white as your lips, let the Day be white. As beautiful as you are, so shall our passing be beautiful! Mother Mara! Next, he addresses Chernobog, saying words like these, for example:

Remember that glory in Navia will turn into silence, and silence will become glory." The priests participating in the ritual must direct their inner power (life force) against the circle to support the spirits of others, as the gates of Navia are disrupted by the spirit of vanity and the mind of carelessness, and Crookedness emanates from their state onto nature.
