ARTICLE CATALOG - RANSOMS IN MAGIC

This article is dedicated to the concept of "ransom". Many people believe that this procedure in Occult practices is mainly done through cemeteries, places of unnamed mass burials, sites of mass death, and so on. In general, it is believed by all that it involves a connection with the World of the Dead. In reality, this is not entirely true. The misconception lies in the fact that ransoms are not only conducted through the Realms of Death and Their Inhabitants. A true ransom is actually conducted through the highest Dark Powers. Ransoms can only be performed by Practitioners who engage seriously and faithfully follow all the laws of the Path of Darkness. It is not something that can be done by a mere layman who dabbles in Occultism temporarily, such as saying, "the pimples have cleared up, the rebellious phase has passed, and the hormones have calmed down – so has the Magic." Or like many individuals playing around with village magic – practicing superficial magic: they read a couple of spells by candlelight in the kitchen, then go to make kvass, bless Easter cakes, and later feast during Christmas. And then it's time to confess to the priest, paying for indulgence and sermon. They are jokers in general. Obviously, these improper practices cannot perform ransoms in Occultism. It refers to real ransoms, not what the common people understand it to be.

What these bookish "magicians" usually consider as ransoms: Among such a biomass, ransoms are considered as treats, drinks, or some kind of souvenirs left on the graves of the deceased. It is believed that through such "ransoms," as these individuals call them, the souls of the deceased fulfill all their whims. Also, supposedly, they can cancel curses, hexes, and so on. There is only a tiny bit of truth in this. What is it – it's in the following: Such offerings – they should be called that correctly, are presented at graves. But they are presented in such petty requests that it clearly does not compare with genuine ransoms. What can be achieved through offerings to the deceased – to strengthen a curse or cast a small hex, receive a predisposition to contact with a Spirit (not a Soul!), alleviate a not-so-serious ailment, gain some information while in contact with a Spirit, receive some patronage, assistance, protection from Spirits, and so on. Half of these possibilities are not available to "magic jesters". Because a more serious approach leads to a more serious outcome. So, what does ransom actually represent? What is a true ransom, and it is as follows:

This is when an Occult Practitioner, who has been practicing Occultism for many years, faithfully following this Path, regularly making contact with the highest Spheres of Darkness and the hierarchy within it, performs a ritual of "reorder." Through the so-called "Overpayment of someone else's order and its cancellation." The Practitioner can even redirect this "order" back to the "operator" if that "operator holds little weight in the Path of Darkness, or is not even much of a Practitioner. To explain more clearly, it looks something like this in one of the many "scenarios": Someone has placed a curse or hex on someone else, doing it through Spirits, or through Demons, Gods. If the Practitioner, who is stronger and more experienced, sees the victim as useful solely for their own interests due to these actions, they take the initiative and conduct Ritual actions to remove the negative impact from the "victim". They can also redirect the consequences of this influence onto someone else, if not back to the initial practitioner. The Practitioner then performs the corresponding Ritual, invoking the Highest Forces of Darkness, Chaos, Death, offering blood sacrifices (often in such actions), and making their request, carrying out the necessary procedures in this ceremony, and thus "ransoming the victim from negative influences." Victims to the Forces of Darkness need to be substantial in energetic potential and serious in essence. Naturally, the sacrifices made to them must be greater or more significant in terms of energy or potential, or in quantity than the sacrifices made to bring about the negativity by the previous Practitioner. The Practitioner determines the requirements for this operation through Divination, communion with the Higher Forces, or their Intermediaries—Spirits, Demons. Alternatively, such a redemption operation is carried out when the Practitioner has made a mistake in their magical actions, unexpectedly becomes the target of another Practitioner's attacking actions or group of Practitioners. Or in any other serious cases if they occur. Everything is individual and depends on the specific situation to know how to act. Such procedures do not have to be carried out by the Practitioner in burial places. Any convenient locations where the Practitioner can connect with the Forces of Darkness are suitable: forests, fields, steppes, meadows, mountains, riverbanks, the Practitioner's own "Workshop" – tailored to conducting such practices, and so on.

As we can see, such practices are beyond the reach of "tricksters and storytellers" in Magic. Offerings to Spirits of the Dead and true Ransoms are vastly different in definitions and phenomena. Offerings – small sacrifices are indeed presented to Spirits. Not Souls, as many unknowing individuals believe. Because after physical death, the Soul departs to the World of the Dead. The Spirit - the Phantom, the Bioenergy Double of the Deceased, resides above the burial place. It eventually becomes a rational Essence. In Christianity, this Essence is called the "Unclean." It is not the Deceased themselves because their personality is in the World of the Dead, but a part of them that has separated and become an autonomous Being. Offerings are made to these Entities at burial sites in truth and essence. They have corresponding abilities. They are clearly not suitable for ransom.
